Chronicle: "Ron James" Pille, "Jim King" Betlejewski

Longtime Hubbard Country WUBE & Classic Country WYGY/Cincinnati Dir./Promotions “Ron James” Pille passed away this morning (1/10) after a battle with cancer. He was 53. “One of the greatest compliments Ron ever got from the industry was being told multiple times from reps, ‘I wish there was a Ron James at every one of my stations, because things always run with zero issues with you,’” PD Grover Collins tells Country Aircheck. Pille had been with the station since 1992. Arrangements are pending.

Former Forever WXCY/Wilmington, DE on-air personality Jim Betlejewski (a.k.a. "Jim King") died Jan. 4 at the age of 72. He spent four decades in radio before retiring and had also retired from General Motors, where he served as Dir./Video. Visitation will be Jan. 12 from 5-8pm ET at McComas Funeral Home (1317 Cokesbury Road, Abingdon, MD 21009) with services at 1pm ET at Prince Of Peace Catholic Church (2600 Willoughby Beach Road, Edgewood, MD 21040). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Maryland; complete obituary here.
