Brooks Joins WIL, Station Rebrands

Former Entercom WLFP/Memphis MD/afternoon personality Marty Brooks has joined Hubbard WIL/St. Louis in the same capacity effective October 12. He succeeds Josh “JT” Holleman, who departed last month (CAT 9/14). (See story below.) “Marty is a true talent and will help me immensely with programming WIL,” OM/PD Tommy Mattern tells Country Aircheck. Brooks exited WLFP amid companywide restructuring last month (CAT 9/10). He joined WLFP in 2014 (CAT 11/10/14) following time in Grand Rapids, MI; Rapid City, SD; and Wausau, WI. Reach Brooks here.

Additionally, Mattern says the station has rebranded as 92.3 WIL and moved its previous "New Country" moniker to its new positioning statement, "New Country For The StL." Explains Mattern, “We are not going to ignore the legendary WIL call letters any longer, and instead, we are going to evolve the brand in every way." Stream the station here.
