Music City Update

Media coverage, fundraising initiatives, volunteer opportunities and benefit concerts continue to pour into the greater Nashville area following Tuesday's devastating tornado (CAT 3/3). Stonecom WKXD/Cookeville went commercial-free March 3 from 1:30am-12:30pm and provided 10-minute updates at the top and bottom of every hour in morning drive March 4-6. "[Morning co-hosts] Jason and Tony hit the road at 2:30am Tuesday helping keep people informed," says Stonecom Pres./GM Larry Stone. Nationally, Beasley WXTU/Philadelphia is supporting the cause with the launch of an apparel line with proceeds benefitting tornado relief; details here.

Yesterday's (3/5) CMT, American Red Cross and WSMV-TV Rebuilding Nashville Telethon (CAT 3/5) raised more than $385,000. During the telethon, Big Machine Label Group Pres./CEO Scott Borchetta presented a $100,000 check to the American Red Cross. CMA and SESAC are hosting a tornado relief supplies drive today (3/6) through next Friday (3/13). Drop off items (list of what's needed here) Monday-Friday 9am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday 10am-2pm between the CMA/SESAC building (35 Music Square East) and the lot behind RCA Studio A.

Additionally, John Rich's Redneck Riviera will host a benefit show tonight (3/6) at 7pm CT with proceeds being directed to The Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee.
