Zach Katz To Depart BMG

As reported earlier in Breaking News, BMG US Pres./Repertoire & Marketing Zach Katz is leaving after six years as the company splits its US repertoire organization into three. BBR Music Group EVP Jon Loba and BMG/Nashville EVP Kos Weaver will formally take joint control of BMG's repertoire operation in Nashville effective Jan. 1. "The US represents more than 50% of BMG's business," says BMG CEO Hartwig Masuch. "To give you a sense of scale, if it was a country, our Los Angeles operation would be our biggest territory ... Nashville would be our third biggest territory." Los Angeles and New York will be handled by EVP/Repertoire & Marketing Thomas Scherer and EVP/Repertoire & Marketing John Loeffler, respectively.
