Hurricane Michael

Hurricane Michael made landfall today (10/10) roughly 25 miles from Panama City, FL as a Category 4, the strongest hurricane to ever hit that part of the state. Storm surge along the Florida coast is expected to reach nine to 14 feet, and nearly 400,000 were under evacuation orders as the storm came ashore.

Earlier today, Cumulus/Pensacola OM Greg Tillotson told Country Aircheck, "We're not getting too much weather here, just rain. We're respectful to any in our audience who may have family in the other affected areas, however, and are airing updates four times an hour on our music stations."

A statement from an iHeartMedia spokesperson noted that stations in Georgia, Florida and Carolina markets are working hard to serve their communities. Meanwhile, broadcasters whose personal lives or property are affected are encouraged to find out if they qualify for financial relief through the Broadcasters Foundation of America's Emergency Grant Relief Program here
