Buchanan To Retire

Ryman Hospitality EVP and Opry Entertainment Pres. Steve Buchanan will retire from the company in June. Buchanan joined the Grand Ole Opry as Mgr./Marketing in 1985 and was elevated to GM for the Ryman Auditorium in 1993. He was named to his current Opry role in 1998 and to Ryman EVP in 2013. “While it is difficult to imagine an Opry without Steve, I know the team we have in place will continue building upon the firm foundation he helped create for many years to come," said Ryman Hospitality Chairman/CEO Colin Reed. Added Buchanan, "I feel privileged to have worked so closely with artists and fellow employees who share my passion for these revered American institutions that call Nashville home. My heart and soul will always feel connected, and I will proudly watch as new milestones and magic happen." Buchanan remains with the company through June in order to oversee the farewell tour for Nashville, for which he also serves as Exec. Producer.
