Chronicle: Eric Marshall, Jim Malloy

Family, friends and colleagues are mourning the passing of former WSIX/Nashville PD Eric Marshall, whose real name was Eric George "Rick" Kaucher, who died Saturday (7/7) at the age of 62 after battling neuroendocrine cancer. His radio career included stops in West Tennessee, Memphis, Nashville, Northwest Arkansas and, most recently, Branson, MO. Marshall also worked in promotion at Giant Records. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday (7/14) at 2pm at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, 1638 East Highway 76 in Branson. Donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Villalobos Rescue Center.

Engineer/publisher/producer Jim Malloy died Thursday (7/5). During his career, he worked with Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton and Elvis Presley and earned six Grammy nominations, including a win for Best Engineered Recording–Other Than Classical for his contributions to Henry Mancini's "Charade." He also produced Sammi Smith's Grammy-winning cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through The Night." Arrangements are pending. More on Malloy here
